This Storyteller top has been created with found fabric at Tarum Bali. A natural dye house in the South East of the Island growing plants in house to use in their natural dying vats. A burnt orange tie dye colour, so rich and with so much depth. Dyed using Sappan wood as pictured below. The 100% cotton fabric has also been woven onsite at Tarum Bali, keeping the supply chain minimal, which helps keep the footprint of our Storyteller top low.
I wanted to create a top that was an easy fit and a free size as I could only make one top per piece. This approach (hopefully) allows each piece to fit a broader range of sizes. Working within the bounds of the size and type of fabric is what I love most.
My beautiful Balinese taylor Ketut in Seseh has sewn this piece in her home.
